Unsere Heranwachsenden sind alle zurück zur Schule und führen hoffentlich ohne erneuten Unterbruch ihre Ausbildung fort. 

Unser Jahresendbericht für 2021 wurde an alle Spender versendet. 

Our youngsters are all back to school and hopefully they are allowed to continue their education without any further disruption.

Our endyear report for 2021 was sent out to all donators. 

Wir haben einen zweiten Versuch mit einem Weihnachtsmarktstand am Pratteler Weihnachtsmarkt am Wochenende vom 20. und 21. November gewagt und dort unsere mit viel Liebe handgemachten Amigurumis verkauft. Das Wetter war dieses Mal mit Sonnenschein und kaum Wind gut und viele Personen kamen an unseren Stand zu Besuch. Tatsächlich konnten wir ein paar Amigurumis verkaufen und ein paar Kinder- aber auch Erwachsenenaugen zum Glänzen bringen. Natürlich hätten wir uns mehr erhofft vom Verkauf, da noch viele der Amigurumis auf ein schönes Zuhause warten. Aber es hat Spass gemacht unsere Arbeiten zu präsentieren. 

We have taken a second chance to go on the christmas market in Pratteln on the weekend of 20th / 21st of November to sell our with lots of love handmade Amigurumis there. The weather was this time much better with sunshine and no wind and many people came to visit our place. We were able to sell some of our Amigurumi and be brought some glance in some kids and also adults eyes. For sure we were hoping to sell more of them as we have again plenty of Amigurumis who are searching for a nice home, but it was also a pleasure for us to present our work there. 

Mit grosser Freude können wir berichten, dass nun alle unsere Youngsters zurück in die Schule dürfen und endlich nach über einem Jahr kompletter Schulschliessung in Uganda wieder ihre Ausbildung weiter fortführen dürfen. 

Jimmy hat seine universitäre Ausbildung im Bereich Computerwissenschaften / IT begonnen. Peace und Maria werden ihre Hebammenausbildung,und Sanyu ihre Kindergartenausbildung weiterführen. Und Josephine und Baker absolvieren derzeit Ihr Abschlusssemester S4 / S6. 

Wir sind so unendlich froh, dass wieder ein geregelter Alltag einkehrt und die Kinder weiter fleissig lernen dürfen. 

With great pleasure we are able to report you that all our youngsters are allowed to go back to school to continue their education after such a long year of complete school closure in Uganda. Jimmy has started his university education in computer sciences and software engineering. Peace and Maria will continue their midwive education and Sanyu as kindergardener. Josephine and Baker are already back at school and will close their final term S4 & S6. 

We are so happy that they continue now with their "normal" and structured live by learning each day at a school for their future. 

Es war in den letzten Monaten recht still um uns. Dies lag an vielen Faktoren. Der Hauptfaktor jedoch war, dass Ende März der Präsident Museveni in Uganda aufgrund der weltweiten Pandemie auch einen Lockdown in Uganda ausgerufen hatte und alle Schulen in Uganda geschlossen wurden. 

Bis heute sind die meisten Schulen geschlossen, und nur Schüler im Examensjahr war es erlaubt Mitte Oktober zurück an die Schulen für die Prüfungsvorbereitung zu gehen. Für unsere Kinder bedeutete dies nun monatelanges Warten und Ausharren ohne Schule, das Leben bei Verwandten und Unterstützung derer bei den Alltagsarbeiten, die unter einem Lockdown noch möglich sind. Der "Luxus" von Homeschooling, wie wir es in Europa als Möglichkeit haben, ist in Uganda schier unmöglich. 

Josi und Baker sind im Oktober an die Schule zurückgegangen und bereiten sich nun intensiv auf ihre Prüfung vor, was gar nicht so einfach ist, wenn man mehrere Monate Schulwissen innerhalb kürzester Zeit aufholen soll. Baker wird S6 abschliessen während Josi S4 abschliesst. Danach werden wir schauen, welchen Ausbildungsweg beide beschreiten müssen. 

Jimmy hat sich nach Studiengängen und Studienplätzen vorwiegend in Uganda umgeschaut und dort nun auch einen Studienplatz für Computerwissenschaften gefunden. Aufgrund der Pandemie jedoch sind auch die Universitäten geschlossen, dass ein Beginn des Studiums derzeit unmöglich erscheint.

Sanyo hat wohl die schwersten Monate hinter sich. Nachdem ihre Grossmutter, bei der Sanyou lebte, leider gestorben war, verstarb leider recht schnell auch der Grossvater. Sanyo war somit aus ihrem gewohnten Umfeld gerissen und musste bei neuen Verwandten ein zu Hause finden. Sie hat sich nicht unterkriegen lassen von dieser Situation und hat sich aufgrund der geschlossenen Schulen einen Nebenjob als Kellnerin gesucht. Dies macht ihr sehr Spass und gibt ihr im täglichen Leben eine Aufgabe, solange die Schulen geschlossen sind. 

Peace und Maria sind bei ihren Verwandten und hoffen auch auf eine baldige Wiedereröffnung ihrer Hebammenschulen. 

Wir hoffen sehr stark, dass sich die Situation für uns alle baldmöglichst verbessert und unsere Kinder wieder ihren Berufsweg verfolgen können. 

In the last months it was very silent from us. These was caused by several factors. The main factor is that also Corona pandemic situation has hit Uganda very hard so that president Museveni has called out the general lockdown in March 2020 and closed in consequences all schools and universities. Till today most of the schools are closed down and only students who should perform their exams end of this year were allowed to go back to school for preparation of the exams. For our kids this means waiting over lots of months without going to school and having a regular day and instead staying with their relatives and supporting them in the daily activities which are allowed under the lockdown. The luxurious situation of homeschooling as we experience in Europe is not possible in Uganda at all. 

Josi and Baker returned back to school mid of October 2020 for their preparation of their exams of S4 and S6. This is not the easiest situation for them as they have to learn lots of new stuff in few days which they have missed over the last months. After their exams we will evaluate together with them how they want to continue their educational journey.

Jimmy has applied to several universities in Uganda for engineering of computersciences and finally he got an university place in Uganda. Due to the pandemic unfortunately all universities are closed too. 

Sanyo was hit most by this difficult year. After loosing her grandmother where she lived, few weeks later unfortunately she lost her grandfather too. This was a hard and sad situation for Sanyo as she had to adapt her life and find another place to live with her relatives. She is a very strong young lady and she found a side job as waitress to gain first working experience, earning some money and having back some regular life. 

Peace and Maria also live with their relatives currently and waiting to have their school again open. 

We all hope deeply that the situation worldwide will improve and that our kids could return back to their educational pathway.

Dieses Jahr haben wir unseren Pilot mit Verkauf von Produkten auf Weihnachtsmärkten gestartet. Wir haben das ganze Jahr über gemalt, gestrickt, gebastelt um schlussendlich viele Schals, Mützen, Topflappen,  Bilder, Karten, Kerzen etc. für einen potentiellen Verkauf auf einem Weihnachtsmarkt vorrätig zu haben. Wir hatten uns entschieden, erst einmal nur 2 der umliegenden Weihnachtsmärkte zu buchen und hatten am 25. und 26.11. einen Stand auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt in Pratteln und einen Stand am 2.12.2017 auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt in Füllinsdorf. Leider hat das Wetter und die Besucherzahl nicht mit uns mitgespielt, so dass wir nur sehr wenig überhaupt verkaufen konnten. Ein wenig enttäuscht darüber sind wir schon und müssen nun darüber nachdenken, ob wir es nächstes Jahr überhaupt noch einmal machen möchten, da weder die langen Arbeitszeiten in der Kälte, noch der geringe Verkauf unserer Produkte und die Standgebühren auf eigene Kosten des Vorstandes sehr erfreulich und einträglich waren. Dennoch möchten wir Euch gerne ein paar Fotos vom Weihnachtsmarkt mit Euch teilen. 

This year we started our pilot of selling our handmade products on the seasonal christmas markets. The whole year we made paintings, knittings, and other handcrafts which ended up in scarves, caps, potholders, paintings, greeting cards, candles, etc. for a potential sale at one of the planned christmas markets. We decided to start with only 2 christmas markets in the nearby villages and had one stand on the 25th and 26th of November on the christmas market in Pratteln and on the 2nd of December in our hometown Füllinsdorf. Unfortunately neither the weather nor the visitor numbers were friendly to us, so that we could sell only few things. We are a little bit disappointed about this and we need to think about this during the next weeks if it makes sense to visit another christmas market next year again as the long working hours in the cold outside, the few sales we did as well as the fees for the stand which were paid completely by our board were not really friendly to us. Its ready for a time to reconsider it. However, we would like to share with you some impressions from the christmas markets with you.

Aufgrund von vieler beruflicher Aufwände und Aufgaben sind wir leider nicht mehr dazugekommen unsere Homepage regelmässig aufzudatieren und möchten uns hiermit höflichst dafür entschuldigen. Auf Facebook haben wir jedoch recht zeitnah von allen Aktivitäten berichtet. Wir werden ab jetzt wieder regelmässiger über unsere Tätigkeiten berichten.

Wir bereiten derzeit den Jahresendbericht von 2016 vor, um diesen dann an alle Unterstützer und Spender zu versenden. Dennoch möchten wir es nicht versäumen, schon vorab von den guten Neuigkeiten zu berichten, dass wir uns entschieden haben, ein weiteres Mädchen durch MUKISA zu unterstützen. We are preparing the end year report for 2016 now to inform all our donators and supporters about our successful year 2016. In the meanwhile we would like to take the change to inform you about some great news. We have decided to support another girl with MUKISA. We are looking forward having a great time together with you!

Unser aktives Mitglied hat die grossartige Chance bis Ende 2016 ihre selbstgemalten Bilder in einer Ausstellung in der Bibliothek ihrer Heimatstadt Zella-Mehlis zu zeigen. Wir sind sehr stolz auf sie und freuen uns sehr darüber. Wenn Sie Interesse daran haben, schauen Sie doch einmal in der Ausstellung vorbei!

Our active member Anneliese Kühhirt has the chance to show some of her paintings in a local exhibition in a library in her hometown! We are very proud of her and happy that she got this great possibility! If you are in Zella-Mehlis you are gladly invited to visit the exibition.

Unsere Kinder Baker, Jimmy, Maria und Peace haben Ihre Ferien zwischen dem Schulquartal 2 und 3 bei ihren Familien genossen und sind nun zurück in der Schule, um das dritte Schulquartal zu absolvieren. Gerne möchten wir hier von den Ergebnissen der 4 im zweiten Schulquartal berichten, behalten jedoch die Schulzeugnisse weiterhin vertraulich bei uns.

Baker hat sich in der Klasse auf Position 19 von 262 Schülern insgesamt qualifiziert. Seine besten Schulfächer sind Geschichte, Wirtschaft, Landwirtschaft und Kontenführung. Er zeigt weiterhin Schwächen in Luganda, Computer und englischer Literatur auf. Dies ist jedoch nachzuvollziehen, da Baker nicht Luganda als Muttersprache hat und auch keinen eigenen Computer besitzt, um Unterrichtsstoff nachzubearbeiten.

Jimmy hat wie gewohnt wieder Grade 1 erreicht und die Lehrer loben ihn als pünktlich und zielorientiert. Seine besten Fächer sind Chemie,Französisch, Geographie und Physik. Verbesserungsbedarf hat er in Englisch, Geschichte und Mathe.

Maria hat sich in der Klasse auf Position 45 von 262 qualifiziert. Ihre besten Schulfächer sind Kontenführung, technisches Zeichnen und Geschichte. Verbesserungsbedarf gibt es in den Fächern Computer und englische Literatur.

Peace hat sich in der Klasse auf Position 33 von 262 qualifiziert, Ihre besten Schulfächer sind Geschichte, Wirtschaft und Kontenführung. Mehr üben muss sie noch in Mathe, Chemie und Computer.

Das Schulquartal 3 ist vollständig bezahlt und wir konzentrieren uns nun darauf Spendengelder für das nächste Schuljahr zu sammeln. Wir hoffen weiterhin auf Ihr Interesse und Ihre Unterstützung unseres kleinen Vereines. Herzlichen Dank für all Ihre Unterstützung, die Sie uns bis jetzt gewährt haben! Our kids Baker, Jimmy, Maria and Peace have spent their holidays between the second and the third term with their families and are back now to school to absolve their third school term. With pleasure we would like to inform you about the school results of our 4 kids. We keep again the school reports confidential.

Baker has qualified himself to the position 19 out of 262 students in the class. His best school topics are history, commerce, agriculture and accounts. Some weaknesses he has again in Luganda, computer and english literature. However, this is not a surprise for us as his mothertongue is not Luganda and our kids have no computer to repractice what they have learned in the school.

Jimmy has as usual received grade 1 and his teachers praising him as punctual and goal-oriented. He is very good in chemistry, french, geography and physics. He needs to practice more English, history and maths.

Maria received the position 45 out of 262 students. Her best topics are accounts, technical drawing and history. She needs to practice more computer and english literature.

Peace has reached the position 33 out of 262 students. Her best topics are history, commerce and accounts. She needs to pay more attention to math, chemistry and computer.

The 3rd school term is completely payed now and we start to concentrate our activities to the next school year by collecting donations. We hope to keep your interest and support to our small association. Many thanks for your past support! Only with your help it was possible that our 4 kids were able to attend the school by receiving a good education!

Wir haben die Schulzeugnisse unserer MUKISA-Kinder erhalten und können mit Freude  berichten, dass sie wieder gute bis sehr gute Schulleistungen erbracht haben. Baker befindet sich auf Position 11 von 266 Kindern in der Klasse und bringt sehr gute Ergebnisse vor allem in Geschichte, Wirtschaft und Computerwissenschaft mit nach Hause. Sein Luganda ist erneut eher schwach,  bedingt durch die fehlende Muttersprache darin. Peace hat die Position 33 von 266 Schulkameraden geschafft und hat vor allem ihre Stärken in Buchhaltung, Kunst und Geschichte. Mathematik und englische Literatur sind jedoch noch schwach und müssen zukünftig stärker geübt werden.

Maria hat Position 52 von 266 Kindern, mit sehr guten und guten Noten vor allem in  Buchhaltung, Wirtschaft, Geschichte  und Englisch. Auch bei Maria sind Schwächen in Mathe und Luganda vorhanden. Wenn man die Zeugnisse betrachtet, ist es auffällig, dass alle Schüler in gewissen Fächern gleich gut sind und in gewissen Fächern gleich schlecht. Sollte dies im nächsten Schulquartal wieder der Fall sein, werden wir mit der Schule direkt Rücksprache halten, da dies evtl. auch an der Unterrichtsweise des Lehrers und dessen Bewertungsmasstabes liegen kann. Wir werden dies weiter beobachten und wenn nötig einschreiten.

Jimmy bringt wie gewohnt ein sehr gutes Zeugnis (Grad 1) voller Lob von den Lehrern zurück. Er ist fleissig und interessiert und bemüht sich allen gestellten Anforderungen gerecht zu werden. Wir haben ihm nun die Schulbücher für die Examen im nächsten Jahr gekauft, dass er sich langfristig und mit viel Zeit auf die Examen vorbereiten kann.

We have received the school reports of our MUKISA-kids and are glad to report that they have brought home again very good/good school reports.

Baker is on position 11 out of 266 school mates and brings very good results especially in history, commerce and computer sciences. Luganda is again a weakness of him based on the missing mother tongue in Luganda.

Peace has position 33 out of 266 and very good results in accounting, art and history. Maths and english literature have the need to do more extra training and lessons. Maria has position 55 out of 266 with good results ihn accounting, commerce, history and English. Also Maria has some weaknesses in maths and Luganda. When you are looking into the individual reports you could recognize that all kids have strengths and weaknesses mainly in the same topics which gives us the hint that a root cause could be also teachers teaching methods or judgement of test results. We will investigate that again with the next school report and if same results will be observed we will directly contact the school administration to evaluate the root cause of it.

Jimmy brings as we are used to it already again school results back home (grad 1). The school report is again full of honor for Jimmy as a great student. He is hardworking, reliable and always tries to perform his best. We have bought him now all school exam books for the next school year so that he could already start slowly to prepare himself for the school exam.

Der Mai hat gestartet und wir möchten nicht versäumen, noch rückwirkend für April zu berichten, dass wir unsere erste Generalversammlung am 12.4.2016 abgehalten haben. Wir können sehr positiv in das Jahr 2016 schauen, da wir dank grosszügiger Spenden durch unsere Ehrenmitglieder nun das Schuljahr 2016 für unsere 4 Kinder komplett zahlen können. HERZLICHEN DANK AN ALL UNSERE UNTRSTÜTZER!!!!

Nichtsdestotrotz verlieren wir noch nicht unseren Wunsch aus dem Auge, auch Peace, Maria und Baker auf die für uns adäquater erscheinende Schule Taibah spätestens im S4 schicken zu können. Aus diesem Grund brauchen wir weiterhin Ihre Unterstützung und Vertrauen in uns. Wir haben viele neue Ideen entwickelt, um neue Geldquellen für MUKISA zu eröffnen. Diese gilt es nun in die Tat umzusetzen und weiterhin viel Lobbyarbeit zu machen. Doch wir spüren, dass langsam unsere Arbeit Früchte trägt und wir in uns einen weiteren Bekanntheitskreis mit Fleiss und Mühe erarbeitet haben.

May has started and we do not want to miss the chance to inform you that we have hold our first annual board meeting on the 12th April 2016. We are looking in a very positiv year 2016 because we have received from our honorary members generous donations so that we could cover the school fees for our 4 kids for  the whole year 2016. MANY THANKS TO ALL OUR DONATORS!!!!

However, we keep in mind our wish to send also Peace, Maria and Baker to Taibah International School which is for us the better school for receiving good education, latest in S4. Based on this we need again your support and trust in us. We have developed further great ideas to find new donation income solutions. Now it is time to bring these ideas into reality and to do further lobby work. But we see already, that our work starts to show further effects and that the awareness level of MUKISA raised during the last months.

Beginn April war offizieller Familienbesuchstag an der Kisubi Mapeera School und unser aktives Mitglied Jason Edwards hat Baker, Peace und Maria dort besucht. Es geht allen 3 gut und die Schule macht ihnen weiterhin grosse Freude. Dank Jason können wir nun auch wieder einige aktuelle Fotos liefern.

Begin of april there was the official family visitation day at Kisubi Mapeera school and our acitve member Jason Edwards who is currently living in Uganda has visited Baker, Peace and Maria. All of them are very well and enjoy school activities. With great thanks to Jason we are able to deliver current photos of them.

Unsere 4 Kinder Baker, Jimmy, Maria und Peace haben ihre Ferien gut verbracht und Mitte Februar ihr neues Schuljahr begonnen. Baker, Peace und Maria gehen nun in Kisubi Maapera in die S2 Klasse und Jimmy in der Taibah International School in die S3 Klasse. Aufgrund der Präsidentschaftswahlen in Uganda begannen die Ferien zu einem verspäteten Zeitpunkt. Alle 4 haben sich sehr darüber gefreut, wieder in die Schule gehen zu dürfen.

Our 4 kids Baker, Jimmy, Maria and Peace had great holidays and started the new school year mid February. Baker, Peace and Maria are going now to the S2 class again at Kisubi Maapera school and Jimmy goes to S3 again at Taibah International school. Due to the election of the new president in Uganda the school started delayed. All 4 were really happy to attend the next class and starting the new school year.

Mit grosser Freude dürfen wir mitteilen, dass wir nun auch auf www.ammado.com als NGO registriert sind. Hiermit erschliesst sich uns eine weitere Quelle für Unterstützung. Die erste Fundraising Aktion haben wir gestartet und sind gespannt, auf welche Resonanz diese trifft.

Unsere Kinder haben erfolgreich ihr letztes Schulquartal beendet und haben nun ihre wohlverdienten Ferien bei Ihren Verwandten bis Februar 2016. Das Ende des 2. Schulquartals ist eingeläutet. Unsere Kinder sind zurück in den Ferien bei Ihrer Familie / Verwandten und haben uns ihren Schulreport zugesendet. Wir sind stolz berichten zu können, dass alle 4 Kinder hervorragende Ergebnisse gebracht haben, die uns froh machen.

Alle 4 haben Grade 1, d.h. den besten Grad, den man in Uganda erhalten kann. Baker hat sogar Aggregate 8 von 8 (bestes Ergebnis), Jimmy 9 von 8 und Peace und Maria 11 von 8. Sie werden von Ihren Lehrern gelobt zu Fleissigkeit, sehr gutem Verhalten und Zuverlässigkeit.

Leider sind die Schulreporte von unseren Kindern in der Kisubi Schule diesmal nicht so ausführlich, dass wir auch die Position in der Klasse berichten können. Aber Jimmys ausführlicher Schulreport lässt keine Wünsche mehr übrig. Es ist voll von Lob und Freude von den Lehrern, dass er Schüler an  der Taibah International School ist. Einen Auszug von der 1 Seite des Schulreports gibt es anbei als Bild.

Mittlerweile kann uns auch  Baker von seiner Operation an seiner Cyste berichten. Die Cyste und ein Teil des Adamsapfel wurden erfolgreich von unserem belgischen Arzt in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Chefarzt der plastischen Chirurgie am Corsu Spital entfernt. Baker ist sehr zufrieden und hat nur noch wenig Schluckbeschwerden. Auch Dr. Vermeesch, der belgische Arzt, hat uns mitgeteilt, dass die Operation erfolgreich gelaufen ist und die Wahrscheinlichkeit einer erneuten Rückkehr nun geringer sein sollte. Wir drücken alle die Daumen und hoffen, dass es nun endgültig die letzte Operation für Baker am Hals war.

The end of the 2 school term arrived and our children are back from school visiting and living with their family / relatives. We have received the school term reports and could proudly report that all 4 kids have amazing and great school results which give us much happiness. All 4 have grade 1, the best grade a student could receive in Uganda. Baker has aggregate 8 out of 8, Jimmy 9 out of 8 and Peace and Maria 11 out of 8. All are praised from their teachers as well-behaved, smart, reliable and hardworking students. Unfortunately the school reports of Kisube are not so detailled then last term so that we can not report their position in class. But Jimmys more detailled school report is full of praisals and appreciations by the teacher to have such a great, reliable, very well behaving and smart student. Attached you will find a printscreen of the first page of his school report.

In the meantime also Baker was able to report us about his operation regarding his thyreoglossal cyst. The cyst and parts of the hyloid bone were cut off by the Belgium  doctor and the chief doctor of the plastic surgery of the Corsu hospital successfully. Baker is very happy about the outcome of his operation and has again only few pain during swallowing. Also Dr.Vermeesch, the Belgium doctor, told us that he is satisfied with the outcome of the operation and that he doesn't think that the cyst reoccure. The probability of reoccurence should be very, very low that time. We all cross the fingers and hope that this operation really was the last operation of Baker.

Ende Juni hat uns leider die Nachricht erreicht, dass Baker von der Schule wegen Krankheit nach Hause geschickt wurde. Leider ist bei Baker erneut die  Zyste am Hals zurückgekommen und macht ihm erneut Beschwerden. Da wir vermeiden möchten, dass er nach einer erneuten Operation (5.!) noch einmal operiert werden muss, sind wir mit belgischen Doktoren, die einmal pro Jahr im Corsuspital operieren in Kontakt getreten und haben diese gebeten, Baker anzuschauen und zu bewerten, was gemacht werden kann, damit die Zyste nicht erneut auftritt. Seit diesem Zeitpunkt haben wir engen Kontakt mit einem belgischen Arzt, der Ende Juli in Uganda sein wird, als auch mit dem leitenden Arzt für plastische Chirurgie im Corsuspital. Baker wurde nun zu einem CT geschickt und wird am 27. Juli zum fünften Mal von dem belgischen Arzt und dem leitenden Arzt operiert, mit der grossen Hoffnung, dass es diesmal tatsächlich die letzte Operation ist und diese nicht wieder auftaucht. Wir haben die entsprechenden Zahlungen für das CT und die Operation veranlasst und drücken fest die Daumen, dass die Operation erfolgreich ist.

End of June we received the sad news that Baker was send home from school due to sickness. Unfortunately his thyreoglossal cyst came back again and gives him many pain to swallow. As we would like to avoid the reoccurence of the cyst and another operation after the next operation (5th one already!) we got in contact with Belgium doctors who once per year travel to the Corsu hospital to operate there. We asked them to have a closer look to Baker and evaluate what would be the best solution that the cyst is not coming back again. Since this time we have a close contact to one Belgium doctor who is travelling End of July to Uganda, as well as with the head of the plastic surgery in Corsu hospital. Baker had 2 weeks ago a CT and will be operated with the help of the scan on the 27th of July the fith time from the Belgium doctor and the head of plastic surgery. From the bottom of our heart we hope that this time it will be the last operation for Baker and that the cyst never again reoccure. The payments for the CT scan as well as the operation we have transfered to Uganda and now its time for us to keep the fingers crossed that this time the operation will be successful for ever.

Unsere 4 Kinder haben erfolgreich Ihr erstes Schulquartal abgeschlossen und sind nun bei Ihren Verwandten in den Ferien zu Hause. Wir sind sehr stolz berichten zu können, dass wir die Schulzeugnisse erhalten haben und sehen konnten, dass alle 4 Kinder entsprechend unseren Erwartungen sehr gute Leistungen erbracht haben. Aus Persönlichkeitsschutz veröffentlichen wir nicht die Schulzeugnisse hier, aber geben kurz eine Zusammenfassung.

Baker, Senior 1: Baker hat 12 mal die beste Note von 15 Schulfächern erhalten, sein schlechtestes Fach ist mit 51 % Luganda, die grösste Lokalsprache in Uganda, dies aber weil Baker mit einer anderen Muttersprache aufgewachsen ist und Luganda für ihn eine Fremdsprache ist, wie Englisch oder Französisch. Er ist auf Position 12 von 275 Schülern.

Maria, Senior 1: Maria hat 4 mal die beste Note von 15 Schulfächern erhalten, die anderen Fächer bewegen sich aber auch im guten Schulnotenbereich. Ihr schlechtestes Schulfach ist CRE, christliche Religion. Sie liegt auf Position 58 von 275 Schülern.

Peace, Senior 1: Peace hat 8 mal die beste Note von 15 Schulfächern erhalten. Ihr schlechtestes Fach ist Mathe, aber Baker hat in den Ferien schon mit ihr gelernt und das nächste Schulquartal sollte es besser sein. Peace ist auf Platz 31 von 275 Schülern.

Jimmy, Senior 2: Jimmy hat - wie schon fast von uns gewohnt - den besten Abschluss erhalten, Grad 8 von 8. Er hat wie schon im letzten Jahr eine sehr gute Beurteilung seiner Lehrer erhalten, die sich freuen, mit ihm zusammenarbeiten zu können.

Gesamthaft gesehen, haben unsere Kinder sehr gute Schulresultate erbracht, Baker, Peace und Maria bewegen sich im vorderen ersten Drittel aller Schüler in der Senior 1 Klasse. Jimmy ist seit 4 Schulquartalen der beste Schüler in seinem Schuljahrgang. Wir sind sehr stolz, solch clevere, smarte und tolle Kinder zu unterstützen zu können, damit sie eine grossartige Chance für eine tolle Zukunft haben!

Our 4 kids have successfully finished their first school term and are not at home with their relatives to enjoy there holidays. We are very proud to report that we have received their school reports and that all 4 kids performed according to our expectations very well in school. Respecting the privacy right we are not publishing their school reports but we will summarize here their results shortly.

Baker, Senior 1: Baker has 12 times the best mark out of 15 school topics, his worst topic is Luganda with 51 %, but this because the main local language Luganda is not his mothertongue. He grewed up with another local language. He is on position 12 out of 275 pupils.

Maria, Senior 1: Maria has 4 times the best mark out of 15 school topics. But all the other marks are also within a good result frame. Her worst school topic is CRE, Christian Religion Education. She is on position 58 out of 275 pupils.

Peace, Senior 1: Peace has  8 times the best mark out of 15 school topics, her worst topic is maths, but Baker already learned with her during this holiday to improve her knowledge. She is on position 31 out of 275 pupils.  

Jimmy, Senior 2: Jimmy has - as we are used to it already - the best grade 8 out of 8. He has as all the terms before received only good appraisals of his teachers. They are all happy to work together with him as one of their pupils.

In summary our kids have brought very good school results at home, Baker, Peace and Maria placed themself in the first third of all pupils in Senior 1. Jimmy is since 4 terms always the first in his class. We are very proud to support such clever, smart and good kids and giving them a chance to have a great future!

Our kids have finished soon the first term of their school year and will be back home for school holidays. Thanks to some bigger donations we are able to cover the next school term for all of our kids and they could go to school again with your support. Many thanks to all our donators and supporters! We are awaiting now the school reports and will share with you in the next month a summary of their school results.

In the meantime our application for acceptance of our association and tax reduction possibility  in Basel-City, Basel-countryside, Solothurn as well as Argau was accepted. With a donation of at least 100 CHF you can directly reduce it from your tax. We will apply for further cantons as soon as we receive donations from further cantons.

Am offiziellen Besuchertag der Schule Kisubi Maapera hat unsere Betreuerin unsere Kinder Peace, Maria und Baker besucht und uns von ihren Fortschritten berichtet. Unsere Kinder sind sehr glücklich zur Schule gehen zu dürfen und zeigen gute Leistungen und ein hohes Engagement. Bald steht der Abschluss des ersten Schulquartals an und wir freuen uns dann auf die Schulberichte. Dank einzelner grosszügiger Spenden und neuer Ehrenmitglieder ist das nächste Schulquartal für alle 3 abgesichert und das macht uns sehr froh. Vielen Dank hierfür!

Leider haben wir noch nicht so viele Einnahmen, dass wir unsere Kinder auf die Schule unserer Wahl schicken können, was uns motiviert, weitere Aktionen zu starten. Unsere Kinder berichten uns, dass leider auch in der Schule Kisubi Maapera sehr viel geschlagen wird, um die Kinder zu massregeln, was uns eigentlich gar nicht recht ist, aber der übliche Standard in ugandischen Schulen ist. Hier sind wir etwas machtlos, hoffen aber, dass wir bald genug Geld sammeln können, um die Kinder zur Taibah International School zu schicken, die nur gewaltfreie Konfliktlösungen in Betracht zieht. Wir werden hier von unseren nächsten Aktivitäten in den nächsten Monaten berichten.

On the official visitation day of the Secondary School Kisubi Maapera our Ugandan supporter has visited our kids Peace, Maria and Baker and reported to us their improvements. Our kids are very happy that they received the chance to go to a Secondary school and they show good school results and a high engagement. Soon there will be the final of the first school term and we are looking forward getting their school reports. Thanks to some bigger donations and our new honorary members we could ensure that our kids could go to the next school term starting in May. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR KIND SUPPORT!!!

Unfortunately we couldn't collect so much money that we can send our3 kids to our favourised school but it motivates us to start further activities. Our kids report to us, that unfortunately also on the Kisubi Maapera school the common practice of beating pupils for ensuring that they behave in the school rules is done as it is common in most of the Ugandan schools. Here we are unfortunately not powerful enough to stopp this practices, but we hope that we could collect soon enough money to send them to Taibah International school where nonviolent solutions are found to help kids behaving in the right rules. We will report our additional activities during the next months.

Die PLE Resultate von Baker, Maria und Peace wurden ausgestellt. Wir sind froh und stolz berichten zu können, dass alle 3 einen Grad 1, den besten Grad in Uganda, erhalten haben. Wir freuen uns nun, die 3 Kinder offiziell in der Schule Kisubi Maapera ohne Probleme anmelden zu können.
